okay so i caught beau reading one of my favorites, "what do people do all day?" by richard scarry. i remember reading this with po-po when i was little. my favorite story was about abigail who is a little rabbit who has her tonsils out at the "hospital" just so happens on the same day her mommy rabbit comes in and has a her baby brother. its now a favorite of laineys and apparently rising on beau's list. its a book that is a compilation of short little stories...about what people do all day. its chalked full of trucks, tractors, boats, planes, cars, etc....everything from building roads to farming to libraries, hospitals and grocery stores. beau is really liking it.
so of course i go off on a deeper thought about the book and felt compelled to write maggie, blair and maddie. i actually was moved to tears at one point. so here is my heart to you guys. so i'm thinking about this what do people do all day book and my thoughts go to i wonder what our book would look like? what would our interview with richard scarry for our pages look like? God has been stirring so much in our hearts and its been such a season of learning His heart for His Kingdom. oh, i pray we would have childlike hearts and He would only increase our desperate cry for His Kingdom to come. so it made me think of my sweet friend erica's word at our house church on sunday of how the Father's heart is to turn our ashes to beauty.(is.61)(and then how God gave a very similiar picture to another sweet lady along the very same line) and how He gave her a picture of fresh insight into us being willing to let the Father actually burn away the chaff and from the ashes He brings beauty. that His heart is always to do the "great exchange"...even when we want to hang on to whatever it is in our lives so tightly. its that picture of c.s.lewis' quote that we are satisfied with mudpies in the gutter when our affectionate Father wants to lavish an extravagant fun filled adventure at the beautiful beach on us. i would want another page to be watching someone declare being set free from lies of the enemy. how his testimony is so powerfully lifechanging. how he is hearing the Lord's voice and responding to our King! how he is beginning to grasp how much he is loved and adored by our Heavenly Father! the enemies strategy is so often times to keep us bound up with familiar spirits/lies: whether it be self-pity, fear, strife, pride, etc...there is a reason people call them familiar spirits. without even realizing those lies actually begin places of comfort to us, in a real twisted way. God's heart is to pour out freedom over His people. i would want that to be a page. i would want people worshipping our King to be a page. just even recently two of my dear friends have started to play the guitar. i know this is a little thing to some but my heart is so stirred by this. i just want to shout yes, Lord. yes, Lord. He is stirring hearts for worship and that is where His Presence resides! He promises us that He will inhabit the praises of His people! I pray God would stir hunger for His Presence over every believer in this city. that we as believers would rise up united together from all over this city, this region to bring Heaven down. i would want that to be a page...believers united beseeching the Lord, crying out to Him to bring His Kingdom in every area. i found myself praying for maggie you and blair in boston today....i pray God would unite the believers there...that He would raise up an army of laborers and that He would pour out His Spirit over that city. maddie i found myself praying for you and for waco and our dear friends/believers there...that God would continue to pour out His Presence over the Baylor campus. that students there as here in norman would be so hungry for His Presence that nothing else would satisfy. that the believers would rise up and crave His voice and desire to speak His Heart to lost. also for whichita, kansas it was on my heart today. aubrey is there actually working for their professional opera. i would want a page to be for the people in wichita, kansas. Lord, we know you love the people who are with aubrey. we pray for them to see your light in her. that her conversations would be "seasoned with salt" and that the words you give her to speak would make them so thirsty for you God. we pray strength and deep heart encouragement for aubs. man, i love you guys. i just went out in 100 different directions...one thing i know for sure is God longs to pour out His Spirit. how He chooses to do that, the ways He chooses to do that...i can't begin to understand or even at times fully wrap my mind around. but man life with God is so fun! i think this afternoon i just feel undone in gratitude to Him. His affections towards us, the fact that He wants to speak clearly to us, for us to know His voice....God of the universe our creator...He wants to speak tenderly to us and invites us to partner with Him to reveal Himself to those who long to know He is real and that He does speak and He does want people to know and experience and walk in His deep love and tender mercies. the nature of our God is love and it is so very GOOD. His nature, His tender nature...is breathtaking. Father God may we be consumed with You. May we be consumed with your Kingdom!
"But as for me, the nearness of God is my good;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
that I may tell of all Your works." Psalm 73
