lainey discovered a beautiful tiny birds nest in our dogwood tree. it is low enough to the ground that lainey and beau and i really got to enjoy it. lainey was convinced the mommy bird had laid eggs in the nest. we came home after celebration one night and sure enough there were 3 tiny little birds in the nest. it was so much fun to watch them develop and watch how the mother and father bird feed and protected the babies until they were able to fly out of the nest.

we even got to discover what happens to the babies during a rain storm. how the protective mommy sits on the nest to keep her little babies safe and warm:)
