Wow! Big Beau is 12months old today! I remember a conversation dad and i had when lainey was a baby and he said, "the older you get the faster time flies..." we talked about that tonight for a quick second. obviously he is so right. i pray the Lord would pour out His grace on us that we would be able to savor every moment with our little ones. everyday is such a gift. this last year has been amazing. i am in love with this little one year old. his sense of adventure and his enthusiasm for which he seems to already go after things is such a precious picture of his sweet daddy to me. we had a great celebration tonight. we missed you guys so much. we had cupcakes, played a little "how well do you know beau" game and then prayed over our big beau. i had fun as his mom. i think he had a great time too! he liked the cupcake...but let's be honest it was far from his first refined sugar.
football cupcakes...basketballs, soccerballs and baseballs... i called maggie at least twice with questions about the cupcakes. clearly making anything from scratch is not the norm for me. this was the first time i made "red velvet" from scratch. mike and beau like red velvet (beau actually likes anything sweet....) i figured i could attempt it for the men i love....they were a smidge dry. but beau still seemed to like them.
i think big beau had a fun night. thank you to everyone for coming and love to all our family who wanted to be with us. we love you and miss you guys so much.
