BV/kay's and cottonwood pass

while in breckenrigdge we took a day trip to buena vista. we all have so many fun memories in that little town from being at YL camps, frontier and trailwest and visiting noah's ark. we stopped of course at Kay's for lunch. it was quite busy...we brown bagged it over to the park...it was a beautiful day. on the way home after we headed up to cottonwood pass we had to make a last stop at Bongo Billy's for some chai and a sweet treat for the road.

annie really liked Kay's

kay's with my lainey. it was fun being in bv with our kids. it felt special telling lainey and maddie stories about being there before we were married and even from early early marriage...

it was a gorgeous day!

this is beau hiking down our little hike at cottonwood pass. he wanted to "go fast" the picture doesn't show it but he did get up a little speed...thank you Jesus for your protecting angels.

beau a little tired at one point on the hike. we didn't take the backpack on this mini-hike...we were missing it.

that evening we went into breckenridge to a play their children's theatre put on. it was put on my a summer musical/acting group. it was pretty cute. lainey "kind of" enjoyed it. it was a little rough in parts. beau well, he lasted about 5-7 minutes. mike took him out. the back of the theatre is open to the beautiful grassy courtyard play area that the river/creek runs through. beau thought that looked a bit more fun.

it was fun to bundle up in the evenings with my precious annie. its always amazing the temperature difference. you would never in a million years think about getting your fleece and fleece thick babyblankets out at 7 in the evening while being outside in okla in aug.

we took the breckenridge peak 8 ski lift up one day for a picnic and then maddie, lainey, beau and mike took another lift up to do the alpine slide. the kids really liked it. lainey said they got behind someone really slow....apparently she wanted to go a little faster. who knew? i guess maddie was encouraging her sense of adventure.
