lainey beth
51/2 years old
1st day of Kindergarten
gingerbread school
this is lainey and teacher alicia at drop off. i have to admit i had some unexpected emotions. we've been talking about kindergarten a ton. i've really been thinking about how beau will do without lainey every morning from 9-12. and as i took the picture of teacher alicia and lainey tears started streaming down my face. of course i said my goodbye quickly. lainey was so brave and marched right in and i walked back to the car sobbing. i guess that is the way it goes. i've heard stories of kindergarten and always thought yeah, i'll be fine. honestly i expected no emotion whatsoever. and low and behold at just the last moment pictures of lainey being a tiny infant started flashing across the movie screen in my mind..all kinds of sweet memories and i of course had a sweet little cry. i just can't believe she is already in kindergarten. Sweet Jesus help me to savor every single day.
so my tears were quickly dried and we were on to the next drop off. beau stared MDO today. he is a new class for him. the 2-3 year old class. i actually think he had a fun day. he seemed chipper this afternoon. perhaps it was a bit more fun for him than the little toddler class this summer. no need to cry at MDO...beau did that for me. but they said he settled down in about 3 min. you'll notice "lambie" in the picture...beau loves his lambie.
after we dropped beau at his class annie and i were on to okc for her first official audio-verbal therapy session. we have meet quite a few times at hearts for hearing with our speech therapist, dr.teresa caraway and with our audiologist, dr.jessica. but today was annie's 1st offical AV therapy session. it was great. we really, really like dr teresa soo much. she is a lover of Jesus and soooo kind and encouraging and super knowlegable. we really believe that God has hand picked her to work with us. we are soooo grateful. annie actually didn't sleep through the whole appt. she was awake most of the time and she cracked some HUGE smiles for dr.terersa it was sooooo cute. she is really beginning to respond and get excited with her responses. this morning as mike was changing her before i fed her she let out this high pitch squeal...i heard it across the house. it was so loud and such a fun new sound.
"I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in Him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love." Eph. 3:17
