so sad to have aunt maddie leave to go back to waco. we are going to miss her soooo much! its weird sometimes when one of the sisters (lately its either maggie or maddie) leave town its like you get sad they are both gone all over again. we miss you guys sooo much. millie might be the cutiest thing with aunt maddie. it makes me remember what lainey was like with her and all her aunts at that age. its so precious. she absolutely adores aunt maddie.

she busted her nose on saturday. she hit it pretty hard while playing "chase" i was just glad it didn't turn her eyes black and blue for the first day of school. it hurt to put her googles on so she didn't want to swim for a day. i knew when she didn't want to swim it was hurting.
so...that corn is actually out of our garden. lainey picked it. and it really tasted good. it was really fun. we've also enjoyed some juicy tomatoes, jalapenos, eggplant, squash (early on...something ate all my squash plants. i've been told good squash in okla is hard to grow. who knew? mom seems to do it great) liz's housechurch, auxano (greek word for grow) came and planted our garden the saturday after we brought annie home from the NICU. they said they wanted to practice doing their "victory" gardens. i think sweet liz mentioned to them that i had been wanting to do an above ground garden. they will plant victory gardens and teach folks how to care for them and cultivate some of their own food as they reach out to the working poor in Norman. they also will be helping them with repairs to their homes, etc. it is pretty incredible. we were so grateful for their kindness and have had so much fun reaping fun veggies and herbs out of it all summer!
