lainey loves to dance:)

lainey has been asking to take a dance class several times over the last year. so we opted to take a break from gymnastics with her best buddy, esperanza, and take a dance class this summer. which i realized how much she wanted to take dance when she made her decision to "go it alone" without her bestest bud, who wasn't going to take dance. it was fun to see watch her walk through her decision process even at 6 and even with something that really be 100% great to do either way. it is fun to see your child feel powerful in her decision making. sweet sarah gave her some great advice and thoughts to think over as lainey was trying to decide between the ballet/tap class and the hip-hop class. she ended up deciding on the ballet/tap class but oh, how she was intrigued by the hip-hop. i feel so grateful to have sweet friends around us to help/equip my daughter in ways that i don't have much of a grid for. i did take ballet when i was little but dance (as my younger sisters can attest) was not my strong suit. im really am grateful that lainey has amazing women around her to learn from...relationships are priceless gifts:)

anyway...enough of my rambling. the class was super fun for her. there turned out to be only 3 little 6 years old. so they got a ton of attention. their teacher, miss rachel was so kind. lainey of course thought she was fabulous:)

they had a mini-performance on the last day. lainey did awesome! she really really enjoyed it. it was also really fun to watch annie watching lainey, listening to the music, the taps of the tap shoes....so fun:))
