sunday we walked down through the boston common area/public gardens then up through beacon hill. then we went on to see harvard yard and MIT. it was really fun to see were uncle blair goes to school. it was also beyond amazing to walk across from harvard yard and see the cemetary that was est.1638...the rich history was really sobering. lainey of course loved the harvard bookstore with maggie and blair. uncle blair and aunt maggie bought her 3 new books for her birthday! in the public garden area one of our favorite things were the golden ducks statues. they are taken from the children's book "make way for the ducklings" by robert mccloskey. which is one of lainey and i's favorites to read together. it is actually rec'd the caldecott medal. just a little trivia. but when i was in grade school we had to pick a book to illustrate. i picked "make way for ducklings" its always been one of my favorites. its so fun now to read it with my kids. so the golden duck statues were super fun for us! and to be in the actual park that the book was written after. i know its the little things but that was really fun. i had no idea that was there.
