South Pacific

******************
noni and pops had invited us to go and see norman north's "south pacific" friday night. i let lainey make the decision on what we would do. i have to say i was fully suprised at her response. let me preface by saying just the day before she asked me if we could go trick-or-treating. i thought she was excited about getting candy, dressing up, etc. when i asked her about the musical i said if we go that means no trick-or-treating, no giving candy out, etc. again fully expecting her to turn down going to the musical. her response was quite mature, it honestly amazed me. she said, "yeah, mom i can do that next year. i want to go to the musical." so to the musical we went. leaving beau and dad at home to pass out candy to our neighborhood kids. which mike said beau was so funny. everytime the doorbell rang he would get sooo excited and then run to the door to check out the kids.
lainey beth wore her kimono that her best friend esperanza brought back from china for her. we thought that would be perfect for "south pacific"
the highlight of my night was definitely lainey beth. she truly enjoyed the musical. it was 3 hours long. she was into it the whole time. she walked away singing, "im going to wash that man right out of my hair..." and doing little dance moves. she is so funny. she really liked it so much. i honestly think she was tracking with the storyline really well. or course there were a few parts that went right over her head, some of those i was thankful for (meant to be the racier scenes). noni took her down to see the orchestra pit...she liked that too. it was fun to hear her tell her daddy all about it. norman north's preforming arts center is unbelievable too by the way. i had never been in there. when i think of a high school stages of course i think of norman high's which compared to norman north's is like a basement dungeon. im not kidding norman north's facility is super wonderful. uncle darin and his students did an outstanding job. it was really entertaining and enjoyable. lainey beth and i were both really glad we went. we both had a great time. it was really fun to see her enjoy it so much. though im sure genetically that should not suprise me at all.
