thanks to auxano

the weekend after we brought annie home from the hospital our dear dear friends from the "auxano" housechurch came over to plant an above ground garden for us. i've always wanted one and it has proved to be such a super fun blessing. many, many thanks to auxano.
the auxano housechurch is focusing on reaching the working poor in our community. they are doing this by helping people with repairs to their homes and by building them miracle gardens that will help to supplement their food portion of their $. they were wanting to "practice" on their skills in the garden building...i was more than happy to be practiced on. they are meeting at zach and liz's house on sunday mornings...its an amazing group of believers and we are super, super excited to see what God is going to do in and through them in this city.

above is the picture of our first eggplant. its got a little more growing to do. the first picture is of our first jalapeno...it too has a little more growing to do. but everyday has been super fun with lainey and beau to go out to the garden and see new growth. yesterday lainey said, "mom, there are so many flowers on stuff." it was fun to be able to explain to her the cycle of a plant. or in the most simple of terms how we will see a flower that will soon turn into a vegetable. everywhere we find a flower will soon be something we can pick and eat! we have tomatoes, corn, beans, squash, jalapenos, basil, parsley, eggplant....
thank you. thank you to the auxano housechurch.
