they love being outside!

beau is becoming quite the little climber. well i guess he has always been an adventurous climber now i think he can just manuver more and more and add in that he likes to jump off things...that makes for a ball full of fun. thank you Jesus for your protecting angels.

so with baby annie we have been spending quite a bit of time at home. actually all our time at home. my kids get an outing here and there when some sweet family member or friend comes to give them a change of scenery for a few hours. beau got to go play with millie, haynes, port and ella with aunt allie and say-say yesterday. he had a ball. lainey is loving doing gymnastics and is already ready to start dance again. but they really do love playing together in the backyard. which i am super grateful for...lainey and beau for the most part play wonderfully together. i love to listen to them laughing with each other...it warms my heart like nothing else. i remember playing outside with my siblings growing up and being sad when we had to come in for dinner, a meal, etc. there is something so sweet about outside summertime fun.

this is little annie getting a bath. ann (one of my favorite nurses in the NICU) showed me this great method of bathing a preemie. i think it would also be a great technique for any newborn. basically you get them all undressed and then soap them up from the neck down. then you wrap them in a really soft cotton towel/receiving blanket and then submerge them in the water blanket and all. it keeps them wrapped up and feeling cozy and the blanket becomes a really warm soft big washcloth. it was amazing how good this technique worked and how much she loves it! i highly recommend it for any little babies and i would do it for a newborn.
